The Shiba Inu community is celebrating a significant milestone marking the third anniversary of Vitalik Buterin’s historic burn of 410 trillion SHIB tokens worth $6.7B in May 2021. The event marked a pivotal moment in the cryptocurrency’s history which had significantly lowered its total supply. The donation was a part of the donation made to Buterin by the Shiba Inu project which had sent him 50% of the total SHIB supply. Buterin chose to burn 410 trillion SHIB, removing them permanently from circulation and the remaining 10% of the SHIB tokens were donated for charity purposes.
